Heritage Light Oak is solid oak in its most honest form — a full 18mm of natural hardwood, milled into generous boards and finished to let the timber speak for itself. It brings warmth, light and a sense of permanence to a room: the kind of floor a home is built around rather than simply laid upon.

Cut from a single piece of oak through its entire thickness, every board carries its own grain, soft knots and gentle shifts of tone. The pale, sunlit colouring opens up a space and lifts the available light, settling as easily into a calm contemporary interior as a period home.

A lightly brushed surface traces the natural texture of the grain, while the UV-oiled finish sinks into the wood rather than sitting on top of it — a soft, low-sheen, matt look that feels natural underfoot and stays simple to care for.

Supplied in random lengths up to 1200mm for a relaxed, authentic layout, it installs by tongue and groove and can be nailed or glued over a suitable subfloor. As solid timber it can be sanded and refinished many times over, so it can be renewed and handed on for generations rather than replaced.

Engineered Wood Flooring Guide

Learn More About Engineered Wood Flooring

If you're considering engineered wood flooring, this short guide explains the key benefits, installation considerations and what to expect before making your purchase.

Video provided by a third-party source and hosted on YouTube for educational purposes.

What it is

Engineered wood flooring has a genuine hardwood top layer bonded over a multi-ply timber core — the authentic look and feel of solid wood with far greater stability underfoot.

Why homeowners choose it

It resists the expansion and contraction that affects solid wood, making it ideal for modern homes — beautiful, hard-wearing and built to last for decades.

Underfloor heating compatible

The layered construction copes well with gentle heat changes, so most of our engineered floors are suitable for use over underfloor heating. Always follow the recommended surface-temperature guidance.

Installation

Can be floated over underlay, glued or secret-nailed. Let the boards acclimatise in the room for around 48 hours before fitting for the best result.

Maintenance & care

Sweep or vacuum regularly and clean with a barely-damp mop and a dedicated wood-floor cleaner. A real-wood wear layer can often be lightly sanded and refreshed over time.
