What to think about
On stairs the pile is compressed on every tread edge. A tight twist or a loop generally keeps its appearance longer than a deep, soft pile.
If you spend a little more on one area of the house, this is the one. It is the floor everyone walks on, every day.
On stairs the underlay and gripper do real structural work. Skimping here is the most common cause of a carpet that looks tired within a couple of years.
Stairs, winders and landings are rarely simple. Proper measuring means fewer joins, less waste and a cleaner finish.
Stripes and patterns must be set out so they run true up the flight. That is a measuring and fitting decision, not a shopping one — talk to us before you commit.
